Child and Adolescent Therapy
Children and teenagers have a multitude of challenges in the emotional, academic, developmental, and social aspects of their daily life. I employ an eclectic blend of therapeutic approaches to address these issues such as play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and creative arts. These techniques have been successful at treating a variety of issues in the children aged 7-17 that I work with who are experiencing the following:
- Adjustment issues
- Anxiety
- Attention deficit and/or hyperactivity disorder
- Confidence issues
- Family issues
- Grief and loss
- Perfectionistic tendencies
- Sadness
- Develop and enhance peer relation skills
By seeking therapy, you are choosing to help your child increase their understanding of themselves, and others, enhance social skills, and improve school performance. I can help your son or daughter better understand their emotions and empower them with skills that will help them deal with the day to day difficulties they may face.
Young Adults
The transition from adolescence to young adulthood is a time of wonder and joy but can also be overwhelming with responsibilities and difficult choices. You may have unrealistic, self-imposed, as well as societal expectations placed upon you which may leave you with feelings as though you do not meet the standard. I work with many young adults and pride myself in promoting a non-judgmental, supportive environment where we find solutions to issues such as:
- Life transitions adjustment
- Confidence building
- Family issues
- Grief and loss
- Life skills/ problem solving
- Sadness or isolation
- Stress Management
- Social Relationship Skills
Do not let the stress of moving from one stage of your life to another impede attainment of your life’s goals and vision. You are resilient and we will work together to reduce obstacles to facilitate that inner strength. I am solution focused which means we will form a collaborative partnership to create the strategies that will work best for you, and your specific life circumstances, and use resources to best facilitate transition in a positive way for one stage of your life to the next.
Adults
As an adult, you have competing responsibilities to both your family and in your workplace. However, taking care of others often begins with caring for yourself. In our sessions, we will work together to help you cope with life’s obstacles, including:
- Balance family and work needs
- Emotional wellness
- Grief/loss
- Lack of confidence
- Life goal refinement
- Stress reduction
As a team, we work together to find the best strategies to facilitate your unique journey towards peaceful living. My therapeutic approach is supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental. Together in session we will discover and explore causal factors that are impacting attainment of life goals and personal happiness.
